National Library Week Poster

Here's my poster. Was trying to make a shelf with books but that was taking a long time and could distract my header font on the top right corner. I did mention ALA down at the bottom since no logo use was allowed. I know the background is a little simple but I would like to hear some feed back from you guys so as to touch that up more. The Dimensions are 16" wide and 24" long.

  1. Nice details on the books and people. Have you considered adding some books to the table? The banner on the wall looks kind of choppy. The information at the bottom is good but it could be intergrated into your design more instead of having just the solid background.
Try placing your illustration at the bottom and putting the info on the white wall of your library room with or without the background. I don't think the solid background on the header font because the red text sticks out all on its own against the white background but the grey makes it blend into nonexistance. Good start though!

  2. You Might Want To CheCk The Spelling On Zollinger Library On Top. It's Misspelt On Top But The Bottom It Is Spelt Right. Id Move Some Info Around Like The "Taking Place At The..." Move It To The Top Then Put The "National Library Week" Under. Then Move The Date Down To Where The "Taking Place" Info Was. Just A Suggestion.

  3. You have some good comments up there, use them.

GREAT ILLUSTRATIONS! It could use a little more. The above suggestions are good. Think about them.

Do you realize that the date is the most important message on your poster? National Library Week, is what the poster is about, you could also make Community Matters, the top of the hierarchy. More emphasis needs to be placed on either of the two also. Make it POP off the page.

  4. Good start. The hierarchy of the information is the most critical at this stage. Information and the illustrations are apart balanced. Adjust your fonts and add some flare to the peice with the header. The color tone within the peice is good, try to keep the ratio of colors used in a even amount. A bit more depth could make the image more balanced.

  5. I think it looks great. A little detail would be good on the top portion but all in all..., it looks nice!

  6. I like the information that you have provided & that alone should promote library usage. Good Job!

    And great illustrations...
